_unforgettable in every way_. " Classics like "_Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap_" become "_Dirty Dudes (Done Dirt Cheap)."  
  
They play_ with such authenticity that Music Feeds declares they will turn "_skeptics into fans_."  After one show, a newly converted fan enthused, "_I had no idea what to expect, but I did not realise AC/DC could be so much fun_."

Founded by **Christopher Freeman** (bassist for queercore legends **Pansy Division**) and drummer **Brian** **Welch**, **GAYC/DC** has earned something rare in tribute band territory: genuine respect from the artists they honor.

When the band released their audacious "_Gay Boy Boogie_" video, it was a homoerotic reimagining of AC/DC's "_Bad Boy Boogie." It was_ shot as a loving homage to **Twisted Sister's** "_We're Not Gonna Take It."  Twisted_ Sister frontman **Dee Snider** himself gave his seal ofapproval: "_I think this is great! "_ That endorsement matters. As Welch notes, "_We love Twisted Sister, who took rock and drag further than anybody at the time. This is our homage and 'thank you.'  As young gay kids, seeing fully grown men in drag every day on MTV meant a lot, decades before RuPaul's Drag Race was a thing_."

While their glitter-drenched, boa-adorned presentation might read as camp, make no mistake. Broadway Rock emphasizes that "_while the band and their presentation may be campy, their musicianship is pure, unadulterated rock_."

Classic Rock Magazine captured it perfectly: "_GayC/DC have taken the songs of perhaps the globe's most heterosexual band and turned them into something altogether more fabulous_."

The band's recent "Gay Boy Boogie" video was premiered by American Songwriter. Their previous "_Highway to Hell_" video featured cameos from rock luminaries. These included **Johnny Martin** (L.A. Guns), **John Bush** (Armored Saint, ex-Anthrax), and **dUg Pinnick** (King's X).

These show how seriously the rock community takes GAYC/DC's mission. This isn't novelty; it's reclamation.For their first Australian tour, GAYC/DC, rounded out by bassist **Glen Pavan**, guitarist **Topher Ruby**, and lead guitarist **Steve McKnight** (who dedicated 80s/90s hard rock fans may know from **Cry Wolf**), will bring their explosive live show to six cities across the country this February.
