Council Grounds Debut Ep Launch Party
They’ve been teasing it all year - and the time has finally come! Council Grounds will be dropping their much anticipated 6 track debut EP on August 28th. To celebrate, the band will be performing their first ever headline show at The Brightside on September 12th.
This unexpected collection of songs are a means to process the cycle of grief and growth that stem from growing pains. Touching on everything from the cost of living crisis, to finding one's voice, CG tackles all things that hit close to home. A snapshot of point in time, this EP is just the beginning of Council Grounds exploration of song-writing that not only excites, but connects.
“Born out of eternal creative frustration and a lack of drive to succeed in anything useful, Council Grounds are set out to create a sound that challenges jaded conventions of alternative rock. Decorated with lyrics that sting with uninhibited honesty, Council Grounds narrate an experience that feels wayward and uncertain; yet, divinely human in all the chaos.”
Council Grounds have hit the ground running since their debut in December 2023. Since then, they have released 3 singles which have received great local radio support, Triple J buzz and airplay across the pacific in America. The band toured in April, playing in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, supporting Fragile Animals on their album release tour. The band have not played Brisbane since their slot at Fireball Fest in July, so don’t miss out and get your tickets now!
The night will showcase some of Brisbane’s hottest talents. Joining the line up will be punk rockers HATERS, local legends Jane Street, and up and comers Tuesday.
