Broken Curve is a new independent house music record label from Naarm/Melbourne focused on nurturing the deep and soulful sounds of the city's dancefloor.

To celebrate the launch of Broken Curve we’ve invited some of the best deep and soulful selectors in Naarm to join us for a party. Mothafunk, Yarra, and Hugo Brown join label founder Boyd Kelly to start this off right.

Lineup:

Mothafunk - is a Chicago born, Naarm based DJ, event producer and journalist with a decade behind the decks, a regular on Triple R and the curator of Dirty Disco. She has warmed up for Chris Stussy, Ezra Collective and Detroit In Effect, and shared decks with Marcellus Pittman, DJ Sluggo and K. Alexi. Her sets pull from rare grooves, club heat and hidden classics, and she's played Meredith, Strawberry Fields and When Pigs Fly along the way.

Yarra - is a Stable Music artist dealing in minimal and deep house, all dubby, groovy and hypnotic. She's played Pitch, Beyond the Valley and Let Them Eat Cake, and holds residencies at Goodroom and Circus Bar alongside regular slots across Melbourne's club circuit. Her sound is built in the heart of the city's underground, and the aim is simple, to make people dance.

Hugo Brown - is a Melbourne producer who runs inflorescence music, the label and event series behind his debut album Full Circle. He makes rich, emotive deep house that pulls from ambient techno and minimalist beats, with live instrumentation woven through his recordings.

Boyd Kelly is a Melbourne DJ and producer and the founder of Broken Curve. He's spent years releasing music and playing around Melbourne, and the label is the next step, his own imprint dedicated to creating, releasing and championing records made here. The purpose is simple, to put Melbourne made music on Melbourne dancefloors.

Milney's Upstairs is the perfect intimate dancefloor to showcase the sound of the label.
