The Melbourne music scene just got a whole lot funkier with the arrival of ‘Notch’, a vibrant new band blending jazz, rock, and funk into an electrifying sound. Formed in 2023, Notch is already making waves with their groove-heavy rhythms, soulful melodies, and a high-energy live show that's impossible to ignore.  
  
The story of Notch is as unique as their music. The founding members connected through their work as teachers at the same school, bonding over a shared passion for music and creative expression. After countless jam sessions in between marking papers and grading exams, they decided to take their collaboration to the next level, officially forming the band. Soon after, they welcomed Dimmy on drums, whose dynamic style added fresh energy to their already eclectic sound.  
  
With a mix of funky grooves, jazzy riffs, and rock-infused intensity, Notch’s music is a genre-bending experience designed. Each member brings their own musical background and influences to the table, creating a rich and diverse sound that keeps listeners on their toes. Their live performances are not to be missed—bringing a contagious energy and improvisational flair that make every show feel like a one-of-a-kind event.
