Eva Cassidy touched the hearts and lives of many. An artist who defied categorisation, she interpreted a wide array of songs across genres such as Blues, Jazz, Pop, Soul, Gospel, and Folk.

  

Harmony duo Georga Byrne & Ally Mac have drawn inspiration from many influences, with Cassidy’s story resonating deeply with them, making it a part of their own artistic journey. With over two decades of experience across stages, screens, and studios, Georga & Ally are versatile performers with a captivating stage presence.

  

Their expertise spans television, corporate entertainment, and touring shows, with performances in Central America, the United States, Asia, Europe, and Japan (where they performed their first show together).

  

Georga & Ally are deeply inspired by many singers, with Eva Cassidy being one of their favourites. For the past 15 years, they have performed many shows and songs together, including Eva Cassidy’s. Now, they are excited to present their new show, Songbird - The Story and Music of Eva Cassidy.

  

The show will feature some of Melbourne’s finest musicians in the most beautiful location: the Parisian loft at the Paris Cat Jazz Club!

The band has delicately arranged their favourite Eva Cassidy songs, adding subtle twists of their own. With powerful and carefully adapted tunes, they perform a selection of Cassidy’s most cherished songs. Inspired by Cassidy, the band explores songs that resonate with them, making each piece uniquely their own.

  

Vocalists Georga Byrne and Ally Mac, both influenced by a range of musical styles, are particularly moved by Cassidy’s story. This moving performance features a variety of genres, highlighted by the beautiful harmonies and vocal blend of Georga Byrne and Ally Mac. The pair bring heartfelt conviction to every song, covering genres such as Jazz, Pop, Blues, Soul, Gospel, and Folk—just as Eva Cassidy did. Known for blending different genres into her distinctive sound, Cassidy refused to be pigeonholed as an artist. Ironically, her fame truly soared after her death, touching the hearts and lives of so many.
