From the city of Sydney, BALKO have been toiling away, playing live shows and recording music for 9 years, dabbling in an array of genres…flicking paint at the wall and seeing what sticks. Starting out as a psyche-punk 5 piece in 2015, they quickly fell in love with sonic experimentation within rock music. Whether it’s noise/metal influences on their 2020 E.P ‘DED’. Their mathy progressive/post-rock instrumentals on ‘Beauty Bot’ in 2023 or their love for improvisation on their latest release ‘Balkonization Live and Improvised’ BALKO will continue to throw you colourful curve balls with no explanation.
