The 1980s are an indie rock band from Melbourne, with a shoegaze twist. Formed in 2022, the group is made up of locals from Melbourne’s vibrant music scene, who have collaborated both together and apart over the last two decades. The band has quickly built a noteworthy catalogue of songs, showcasing their blend of lush, atmospheric soundscapes, driving rhythms and energetic indie rock.

Currently wrapping up their debut EP recorded at Head Gap studios, they are playing a string of Melbourne shows including tracks off their forthcoming release such as “Grapes and Gravy” and “Nothing So”.
