Juno Mamba
Lively in Melbourne
Event Description
Juno Mamba (Live)
The Filipino-Australian artist has also announced a run of headline shows this August/September, coinciding with further live dates across the country supporting Northeast Party House. Juno Mamba kicks off his national tour at Felons Barrel Hall in Brisbane on Friday 23 August – the day Cold Rush is released. He will then play Sydney’s Tokyo Sing Song on Friday 30 August and Buangla’s Bloom Music and Arts Festival on Saturday 31 August, before returning home to play Melbourne’s The Gasometer on Friday 6 September.
Dedicated to his hometown Ballarat’s icy winter months, _Cold Rush_’s seven electronic journeys offer poignant yet club-ready explorations of his formative experiences and how they shaped the person he has become. Today’s new track ‘Slow Dreams’ is one of the EP’s softest tracks, offering a serene escape amidst its clubbier moments.
Euphoric and emotive, ‘Slow Dreams’ lulls listeners into a hypnotic state, while the urgency of its call and response “one more time / stay here” (taken from the EP’s first single ‘undrcut’) echoes the driving intensity of the full body of work.
