Mostly Mozart – Serenade
ANAM returns to showcase the remarkable versatility of chamber ensembles.
Begin your morning by venturing to the sunny afternoon with a chamber arrangement Debussy’s innovative Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune. With its famous opening melody, this impressionist masterpiece comes to life as ANAM Musicians join Principal Flute of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Alison Mitchell (ANAM Faculty), for an exploration of Debussy’s dreamlike soundscapes.
Brimming with the composer’s signature wit and charm, Mozart’s ‘Posthorn’ Serenade invites audiences into an expansive world radiating with toe-tapping delight. Associate Principal of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and ANAM Faculty member, Damien Eckersley joins his ANAM colleagues as they inject fresh energy into a work described as filled with ‘moments of pure, unbridled joy’ (The New York Times).
