Beloved San Francisco songwriter **Sonny Smith** returns to Australian shores this October with his cult garage-pop/folk-rock outfit **_Sonny & The Sunsets_** — this time backed by an all-star Aussie lineup featuring **Shaun Gionis** (_The Green Child_, _Boomgates_), **Mark Monnone** (_The Lucksmiths_, _Monnone Alone_), and **Zoe Fox** (_Zoe Fox & The Rocket Clocks, Ccino_). Think jangly riffs, melodic warmth and plenty of character - the band will play a one-off night of guitars, twang and charm for their only **Sydney (Eora)** show, at the **Marrickville Bowls Club** on **Friday 10th October.** With support from **The Cannanes + Cammy Cautious & The Wrestlers**

Across more than a dozen albums, **_Sonny & The Sunsets_** have built a world all their own — one of sun-faded boardwalks, late-night diners, lonesome motel rooms and backstreet parties. The band’s sound blends 60s pop, garage rock, country soul, doo-wop and lo-fi folk, woven together by Sonny’s unmistakable voice and gently surreal storytelling. A true cult figure in the American indie world, Sonny’s work spans far beyond music — he’s also a playwright, filmmaker, and visual artist, and that creativity spills into every show. Expect an evening of offbeat charm, disarming honesty, and melodies you’ll be humming long after the lights come up — a rare and intimate performance from one of indie music’s most quietly beloved figures.

Joined by local indie-pop icons **The Cannanes,** bringing decades of jangly, DIY brilliance and melodic charm, and **Cammy Cautious & The Wrestlers** who deliver raw, high-energy garage-punk with biting vocals and infectious hooks — a perfect mix of cult favourites and new fire.
