Holding it down at triple j, Shantan Wantan Ichiban is the presenter of our national broadcaster's Friday House Party, and former presenter of The Kick On. Each week Shantan brings a wide-rangin mix of club heaters to hundreds of thousands of listeners. In the primetime slot of 6pm on a Friday, he kicks off the weekend, getting Australia on the dancefloor with his superb music selection and microphone presence.

Shantan started on triple j’s House Party at the beginning of 2022, after wrapping up his work on The Kick On - a show that has been at the cutting edge of DJ culture both domestically and across the world. Hosting mixes from the likes of Joe Kay, Jarreau Vandal, Jael, J.Robb, Sosupersam, Conducta, Esentrik, Gafacci, DJ Moma, Young, Franco, Preditah, Uniiqu3, Sliink, Kampire, FS Green and so many more. Each week Shantan is matching the energy of his various guests with his own top shelf selections to create a show with a viral following both on air and Soundcloud. 

Similarly as a club DJ, Shantan has proved to be one of the most versatile on the circuit. He has created some of Sydney’s most successful party nights via his brand Haus Of Wanton. Through events such as ‘Dutty Dancing’, ‘Mad Ting’, ‘Need For Speed’ and ‘Silk Pyjamas’, he has been consistently transforming any room into ‘queue-around-the-corner’ nightclub. Hosting international artists like Joe Kay, FS Green, Jael, Mina, Dre Tala and Tera Kora, his events have always pushed the boundaries of the Sydney Club scene.

One of his most successful events is his long-running Afrobeats, Amapiano and Dancehall party - Dutty Dancing. Moving around the wide spectrum of sounds from Africa and the Caribbean his nights are the most fun you will have in Sydney. The party where dance professionals come to dance. Each event is a heaving night of intense whining. 

Shantan’s gift to put together energetic sets across a range of genres has made him one of Australia's most sought after DJs. He can be found playing clubs all around the country, as well as festivals like ‘Beyond The Valley’, ‘Splendour In Grass’, ‘Spilt Milk, ‘Groovin The Moo’ and ‘Lost Paradise’.

Shantan has also played support for artists such as Joe Kay, DJ Spinall, FS Green, Anderson .Paak, Austin Millz, S!RENE, Action Bronson, Lady Leshurr and Little Simz to name a few. His skills also caught the attention of Indonesian artists Rich Brian and NIKI, and they took him on a 6 date tour around Australia and New Zealand. While also playing club sets further abroad in cities such as New York, London, Lisbon, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Singapore, Auckland and Queenstown.

In addition, Shantan has recently started putting out a handful of remixes and original music productions. He has recently released three collaborations with Arona Mane, a Drum & Bass roller ‘Doin It Different’, a Caribbean heater with UK rapper Jords on the vocals, and a Brazilian inspired House bop ‘Take Me Home’, which have been accumulating over 600k streams on Spotify.
