End Notes
Lively in Sydney
Event Description
End Notes X City Pop
Super catchy pop hooks with electronic disco and funky horn sections
End Notes is a sweeping jazz collective of musicians led by bass player Ed Lyons that has grown into a Sydney institution out of a series of longstanding soul and jazz residencies over the last 8 years across various Sydney venues.
After an incredible sold out debut last September, End Notes, collaborating with special guest vocalists Nana Koizumi and Reikajj, returns to Lazybones Lounge with an 11 piece band to follow up with a second exclusive live show of Japanese City Pop.
City Pop is a genre that emerged in the late 70s and combines super catchy pop hooks with electronic disco and funky horn sections. Featuring the music of icons Tatsuro Yamashita, Anri, Taeko Onuki and Toshiki Kadomatsu, this is a unique chance to hear these incredible tunes - many only available on vinyl records - performed by a live band.
With vinyl DJs including capo Trevor Elchino from Departure Lounge on 2SER playing records from doors this is a date for the diary. Swap Sydney for Shinjuku for a night and see you on the dancefloor!
