Innovative British artist and producer Om Unit performs ‘Acid Dub Studies Live’ at Howler Melbourne. 

As an artist in their field, few can claim to be as influential as Jim Coles. Since starting the Om Unit project in the late 2000s, Cole's music on Metalheads, Civil Music, and his now-discounted label Cosmic Bridge has pushed modern-day sound system culture and club music forward into new territory. As a DJ, Cole has toured the globe extensively, showcasing his own music productions and the music of others that inspire his work.

Skip forward to 2021, and Cole releases his critically acclaimed album ‘Acid Dub Studies’ to the world. “‘Acid Dub Studies’ is the fully-fledged result of the merging of the calligraphic expression of the 303 Acid bassline with the stern sway of Dub Reggae and the hazier edges of Dub Techno and Ambient music.”

Following on from the hugely successful album and surprising fans, Cole went on to release ‘Acid Dub Studies II’ and two full-length remix albums by guest producers Deadbeat, Dubkasm, Tapes, CV313, Hodge, Yush, Versa, VIVEK, Frenk Dublin, and more.

Modern Hypnosis & Proxemics are truly honoured to be presenting Om Unit for an Australian debut performance of Acid Dub Studies Live, featuring live visuals by Spencer Rose, a live set from local producer and performer POD, and a DJ set from Kast agencies founder Yangos.
