Phoebe Purtill Single Launch Live At The Junk Bar New Farm November 14 With Jade Clark & Blue Jay
I’m so excited to announce the official release of my latest single, Burn Out! This song was inspired by the idea of a wedding at the end of the world – a metaphor for choosing love, courage, and life in spite of the troubles facing us from all angles, amplified through the news and social media.
In keeping with the air of love and romance, the melody was partly inspired by the Foreigner song I Want to Know What Love Is. After more than a year of self-producing it, I find more to love about this song every day, from the violin feature by my brilliant friend Yoon, to the opportunities it has created for me, and I’m so thankful to the generous audiences at Celestial Events’ Starfall and Masquerade Balls for all of the positive feedback!
I envisioned Burn Out as a wedding dance for future brides and grooms to wax nostalgic to, and I'm so proud of the result.
Burn Out will be hitting the airwaves on November 1, so of course I’ve planned a little show to celebrate!
Our lovingly crafted live show will be happening on Thursday, November 14, at the Junk Bar in its new location on Brunswick St, New Farm.
Doors open at 7pm, and tickets are $20, or $22 at the door.
Two very special friends will be joining me to launch new music of their own! Moreton Bay darling Jade Clark will be opening on the night, performing her recent single Can't Seem to Unlove You, a country pop ballad for the ages, and her upcoming smash-to-be, Lights Out. Then we’ll have singer-songwriter sensation Blue Jay – she’s a hugely talented performer and an intuitively intelligent writer, and her recently released first single Lover Boy is an incredibly personal song I can't wait for you to hear live. It's going to be a night to remember!
A few housekeeping notes: The Junk Bar is an 18+ venue serving a range of amazing beverages; however, they do not serve food, so feel free to bring snacks – just skip the BYO drinks or you won't see much of the show!
We’ll also have merch for sale, which you can buy with cash or card.
There’ll be room for up to 100 people, but only 60 seats, so make sure to get there early!
