Matt Malone is an iconoclastic singer-songwriter from the goldfields of Victoria, Australia. Malone is known for his bold baritone / tenebrous lyricism often compared to Michael Gira, Jim Morrison, Glenn Danzig + Tex Perkins, carving out a cult following through his intense live performances. On stage, Malone has shared the spotlight with revered figures like Kim Salmon (Beasts of Bourbon) + Hugo Race (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds), performing on stages both nationally / abroad including St. Kilda Blues Festival. In 2023, he released the critically-acclaimed For The Term Of My Natural Life (VRS Records) + followed it up with Made In The Image featuring a version of the blues classic I’m Bad Like Jesse James shared / endorsed by the John Lee Hooker estate. He’s joined by rock n’ roll / swing stickman James W. du Plessis (The Sea Birds)  on drums, percussion, cowbell + electric blues slide guitarist Ben McIntyre (Break Down Bay). Matt Malone & The Holy Spirits have completed recording with Loki Lockwood (Spooky Records, The Drones, Spencer P. Jones), released the single - Wolfman on Halloween ‘25 and are releasing - Jealousy on Valentine’s Day ‘26!
