The Distant South and Katie May & The Mystics are joining forces to deliver a beautiful evening of Country, Folk and Roots infused music at The Espy Basement on Sunday the 11th of May.

The Distant South throw the sounds of Country, Folk, Blues and Soul into the fiery pit of angst and heartache to deliver captivating performances of melancholic….yet somehow uplifting songs. With 2 EP’s and a full-length album under their belt, The Distant South continue to write new material, and head back into the studio in 2025 to deliver that tricky sophomore Album.
 
Prominent vocalist in Melbourne's alt-country scene, Katie May is finally stepping out and taking centre stage. Katie is known for her rich and warm tonalities which have been heard blending with some of the finest artists in Melbourne. She has sung alongside and opened up for artists such as Ella Hooper, Joe Camilleri, Small Town Romance and many more. All the while, writing and carving out her own sound which is finally ready to be experienced with her band Katie May & The Mystics comprising of Evan Sillence, Fergus Kuhar and Blake Savanah. Katie released her first single “Devil I Know” in 2024 and is currently planning her second release.
