Phoenix Street formed in June 2024. By December, they had featured in the Triple J ‘What’s On’ bulletin, been promoted by Beat Magazine, won the Paradox FreeZa Battle of the Bands, sold out the Gaso and headlined the Fitzroy festivities at The Old Bar on Grand Final Night. Their hybrid brand of guitar driven rock synthesises the legacy of multiple genres, while their lyrics are fuelled by literary allusion and social commentary. Supporting the release of their second single — ‘13
Again’ — at The Leadbeater are local indie and post-punk outfits Goodwin and Assorted Pleasures, alongside the recently relocated Otautahi/Christchurch born folk rock starlet Sam Bambery.

‘13 Again’ was tracked and mixed at Head Gap Recording Studio in Preston. On the 27th of December 2024, the studio burned down. $1 from every ticket will be donated to the fundraiser in aid of Head Gap’s rehabilitation. If you wish to donate a further amount, you can do so via the
