3 Reasons Why You Should Go See Ruby Fields Live

If you're a fan of Ruby or Aussie pub rock, or especially if both.
3 Reasons Why You Should Go See Ruby Fields Live

1. She might play her iconic cover of Britney Spears

In 2019 at Splendour In The Grass, Ruby executed a left-field manoeuvre and covered Britney Spears' ‘Toxic’ in front of 20,000 people. Imagine this at an intimate venue? Fingers crossed.

2. Her new album is inspired by a loyal customer at her local pub, cos' obviously

Her new album, "Small Achievements" is a raw, four-year snapshot of her life, covering everything from the NSW floods to COVID to death, but overall inspired by her local pub... in true Ruby fashion.

“...getting to know Sharky – a beloved patron and piece of the furniture. When he received his Hole-in-1 trophy from the local golf course it was immediately displayed behind the bar. To me, that small gesture represents a place that celebrates everyone’s achievements, it doesn’t really matter how big or small they are, just how much they mean to you. So, I want this album to be a reminder to celebrate shit”

3. It's an all-Aussie 'Pub Rock' Lineup

For most of the run, she’s bringing along the gritty Mac The Knife and indie-punk favourites Platonic Sex with Smol Fish joining in Fremantle. It’s a curated full night of Australian indie-pub-rock at intimate venues, so if this is your sub-genre these gigs have been designed for you.
