A Kaytranada fan didn't hold back on Twitter yesterday, expressing their frustration at fans who remained still even when Kay performed some of his biggest hits.

Kaytranada replied, while empathising that these fans are showing appreciation, he wants them to value social media moments less, and just dance and take in the moment.
I think we have come in this age where everybody’s trying to catch a moment for their own social media presence. It shows their appreciation instead of them dancing and enjoying shows like we used to do. It looks mad awkward from where i stand as i’m acknowledging the appreciation but we need to go back to where we used to be yall. If you put your phone up, let’s move them hips at least!
We tend to agree with Kay here, while it’s definitely important to capture some footage of the concert so you have a recorded memory of it and also put up a cheeky flex on the gram, just don’t make it the priority.
Concerts are meant to be a space where we let loose and forget about our problems for a bit, as we enjoy music in its purest form. In a world with so much uncertainty and confusion, the most blissful and high frequency spaces these days are concerts, and constantly engaging with your phone during a set completely undermines all of that.
