Moontide and the Ensemble make their Tasmania debut in Hobart, bringing the highly acclaimed show to Altar.

The show which merges the worlds of electronica and psychedelia plays heavily on the conceptual works of Moontide, bridging the gaps of cultures and genres from all over the world. The ensemble has sold out shows across Australia and continues to build a strong local audience whilst maintaining strong followings in Central America and Europe.

They have featured consistently on local and international line ups including Strawberry Fields, Let Them Eat Cake, Fusion (DE), Shipwrecked (NZ), Air Festival (IND) Rainbow Serpent, and many others. Moontides productions have landed on labels Searfin Audio (DE), Kosa (IND), Beat&Path (AUS), and many others.

On support is a local singer-songwriter Tasha Zappala and folk artist Dusty Rusty.

TASHA ZAPPALA

With a certain raspy-innocence to her vocals, Australian singer-songwriter Tasha Zappala unlocks a raw mixture of post-folk blues that synthesizes the atmosphere of a local coffee shop where the lighting is warm & the ambiance is nothing short of enticing. Her intense gypsy-folk melodies will at one moment materialize into dainty falsettos, and at the next into a throaty, growling chest tone.

DUSTY RUSTY

Dusty's back home after a some roundabout travels playing his homegrown folksy sounds, original storytelling tunes + upbeat ballads. He'll get your hips swaying, horses neighing, hands clapping and beers cracking. Catch him onstage at Altar tickling the banjo, plucking the guitar, blowing the harp and singing along to his rich, earthy sounds.
