WinterDanceVibes

Barreling into the south-west Si Mullumby brings a wall of good energy, emo9ve grooves and upli<ing dance floor beats to The River Saturday June 15th for this mid-winter event.

Si’s shows are more than music. They are an experience to be experienced.

Inspired from a life on the road and improvised from beginning to end, Si melds didgeridoo, flamenco guitar, drum kit, percussion, harmonic flute and voice into a singular non-stop wave of dance floor vibeZ. No loops. No effects. Just throwing it down and keeping it real.

This is about the rebellion of the human spirit. It’s about re-claiming the inner territory of our own being and finding a direct route for our happiness to thrive in us. Music can free us of the barnacles that have aLached themselves to the bow of our boats and pave the way for a more lucid alive & vivid way of life.

One of the most respected didgeridoo players in the world, Si recently was a featured guest with Ludovico Einaudi in the final concert of his world tour at the Perth Concert Hall.

“A master of this beau0ful instrument!” Ludovico Einaudi

“An astonishing solo player!” Cirque du Soleil.

About Si Mullumby

As a younger man, Si quit studying medicine at UWA to hitch-hike around Australia and be a didgeridoo player before he even knew how to play the instrument.

Years later Si was the only non-indigenous didgeridoo player to be featured in the Sydney Olympics documentary about the origins of the didgeridoo, Yidaki. A<er this he was invited to Arnhem Land by a high elder for personal teaching.

Since then Si has sold out recitals at the Sydney Opera House; was employed as the didgeridoo player for Cirque du Soleil; and at one stage was signed to the leading UK record label. His band Wild Marmalade has toured Japan many 9mes & played many of the most significant fes9vals in the world including Boom Fes9val, Portugal many 9mes over. Recently he was featured by Ludovico Einaudi on the final performance of his Australian tour at the Perth Concert Hall.

Si now resides in Fremantle, where he combines drums, percussive flamenco guitar and naked voice alongside his upli<ing signature style of didgeridoo playing.
