Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!

This week Stella Bridie, Annie-Rose Maloney and Babyccino are stopping by for a show.

Stella Bridie writes music for the long walk home from the party. Blending keen melodic sensibility with narrative, emotive lyricism, Stella's uniquely authentic songwriting compels even the most irony-poisoned among the crowd.

Annie-Rose Maloney writes country-ish music about the deep kernels of pain we all carry around in our pockets. Fast becoming an alt-folk favourite in the Australian scene, Annie-Rose has already supported the likes of Angie McMahon, Angel Olsen and Ruby Gill despite having not released any music, with audiences and critics eagerly awaiting her upcoming body of work. Raised on Wadawurrung Country with a piano in the house and a granny who yodelled at bedtime, Annie-Rose grew up inspired by the likes of K.D.Lang’s ‘Hymns of the 49th Parallel’, The Be Good Tanyas and The Waifs.

Babyccino is a 4-piece garage rock band from Naarm/Melbourne, headed by front-woman Alannah Sawyer. Performing solo for this show, Alannah pulls her intimate lyrics and melodies from Babyccino’s otherwise energetic jangly rock sound, and transforms them into a sound more raw and eerie by nature. She’ll be playing older songs from Babyccino’s debut EP ‘Stomach Bug’ and also trialing out newbies from upcoming projects yet to come.

Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.

Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.

Northcote Social Club strives to create a safe space that everyone can enjoy.
Crowd surfing & dangerous behaviour will result in removal from the venue.
