Ruby & The Groovy Doobies W/ Anna Smirk & Mia Petra

Amy Vee is a skilled musician, award-winning songwriter and performer, and veteran touring artist, whose latest work sits somewhere between indie folk and ambient dream pop. In 2023, Vee recorded a full-length live album with her 6-piece band in one magic evening. Her fans have described it as “next-level beautiful”, “as mighty as it is heart-wrenching” and “mesmerising”. Australian music journalist Stuart Coupe labeled it “stunning, powerful, emotive”.  The album was a stellar addition to Amy’s long history of recorded music. Her sophomore solo album, 'Same Skin', led Double J’s Henry Wagons to label her “an enigma”. Between albums, Vee released five singles, including a collaboration on a song with element rock artist Spectre Tapes which has garnered over 1 million Spotify streams. As a soloist, Amy has opened for a diverse range of artists including Newton Faulkner, Luka Bloom, Mark Seymour, Renee Geyer, Vika & Linda Bull, Alex Lloyd and many more.

Mia Petra
Mia Petra (previously known as Pikoù Panez) is a songwriter and producer based in Mulubinba (Newcastle). Known as a serial genre blender, Mia’s innovative use of harmony and rhythm create listening environments that are both heart-hitting and deeply refreshing. Supported by a powerhouse of local musicians, this outfit blends visceral textures and thick vocal arrangements to weave a strikingly diverse musical tapestry. After a long year hiatus, this ensemble is back fresher than ever, serving up a blend of well-loved tracks, and captivating new compositions.

Anna Smyrk
With a voice described as ‘truly astonishing’ by Rolling Stone, Anna Smyrk is a powerful singer and songmaker from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia). Her songs are anthemic indie bombshells, pairing vulnerable lyrics with explosive arrangements and undeniable hooks.? The last 12 months have been massive for Anna, with highlights including supporting Birds of Tokyo and Tim Rogers, touring North America and Europe, official showcases at NXNE (Canada), Folk Alliance International (USA) and Live at Heart (Sweden) and recording a new EP in Nashville with award-winning producers Jake Finch and Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus).  The first single from the new record, ‘I Don’t Want to Meet Your Mother.’ was added to Apple Music’s New Indie playlist across multiple territories and ‘The Runner’ was added to MTV in Germany. Anna has toured widely throughout Australia including gracing festival stages at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Sip & Savour, Marysville Music Festival & Woodford Folk Festival. In 2024 Anna will be touring her new EP in Australia, NZ, Europe, Canada, North America and UK. Anna is one of very few Australian acts who have been selected to play at SXSW in Austin, Texas in 2024.
