Convergence - An Atmospheric Showcase

Showcase of bands from the post rock, alternative, drone or progressive genre. Featuring a mix of South Australian and Victorian bands; Black Aleph (Single launch), The Unset, Capermote (EP launch), Kuiper & Halfway Line.

Black Aleph (VIC/NSW) launching their new single, DESCENT.

Black Aleph perform a hypnotic blend of post-metal and ritual drone. They use this weighty sonic language to explore interactions of shadow and light, the movements of celestial bodies, and inner and outer spaciousness.

The band features unusual instrumentation, with Lachlan R. Dale (Hashshashin, Adrift For Days) on guitar, Peter Hollo (Tangents) on cello, and Timothy Johannessen (ex-Mehr Ensemble) on Persian daf.

Black Aleph's debut album 'Apsides' is out 26 October on Dunk Records & Art As Catharsis.

Capermote (SA) debut show and launching their new EP, Invenio. "Capermote is the musical endeavour of Adelaide composer Thomas Pearce. His style seeks to blend his interests in classical music, 80s thrash metal, anthemic pop hooks & modern prog production. His second EP “Invenio” is about self reflection, discovery, and maintaining excitement for all the new experiences we have to look forward to that are just over the horizon"

The Unset

“Adelaide based musicians Elian Hamilton, Simon Ielasi and Aaron Fuller are the architects behind alternative rock act, The Unset. Letting the influence of post-rock music seep into their songs, they delicately drip in ethereal guitar scenery, that construct songs that ascends and crumbles effortlessly.

Kuiper is an ambient Post-Rock band that started as a studio project by Dion Zisos which has now formed into a live band. Beautifully crafted songs and melodies, driving synths and rhythms. After releasing the first album Alignments in 2021, Kuiper supported Scottish Post-Rock legends Mogwai in 2024 in their live debut.

Halfway line

Formed in 2023, Halfway Line emerged from the breakup of Adelaide Post-Rockers Iiah. Halfway Line is the next evolution in a musical journey entering its third decade and aiming to make 2024 a big year. Get ready for souring melodies, heavy ambience and epicness!
