Tiki Taane is one of the most influential and versatile artists and producers in Aotearoa (New Zealand). Hailing from Ngati Maniapoto and MacDuff, he has played a pioneering role in shaping New Zealand's bass culture and is recognized as a master genre-bending experimentalist. Tiki first made waves in 1991 and later became the frontman of Salmonella Dub in 1996, setting the stage for a transformative solo career. His debut solo album, 'Past Present Future,' achieved double platinum status and produced the record-breaking single 'Always On My Mind,' which held a spot in the charts for 55 weeks.
Tiki's production prowess extends beyond his own work, having crafted hits for renowned artists like Six60 and long-time friends Shapeshifter, for whom he has also served as their exclusive live sound engineer since 1999. Known for his powerful live performances, Tiki captivates audiences as a solo artist, hype MC, or collaborative performer, delivering electrifying and unifying experiences every time. As CEO of Tikidub Productions, his influence continues to shape New Zealand music, making him one of the most diverse and compelling talents in the industry.
