Harp Attack

The PERTH BLUES CLUB presents its annual

HARP ATTACK

Always looking forward to Harp Attack when the Tin Sandwiches take over the Perth Blues Club. It is going to be a great night with an amazing wealth of talent featuring Harp players from many of our favourite bands.
Howie Smallman, Geoff Bushby, Dave Billing and young Elwood Birgden.
The DooDaddies featuring Dave Brewer - Electric Guitar, John Wilson
 - Upright and Electric Bass and Yugon Chobanoff  -  Drums will back our special guests.

Get there early and have a chat with other like minded harmonica enthusiasts, perhaps find out about the Harmonica Club, this is all good stuff! The plan is to get some jamming happening in the last set, pull a few Harpists from the crowd, encourage some spontaneity and have a huge amount of fun. Dancing permitted and encouraged.

There will be Harp related prizes- thanks to Mando Harps. So come on down to PBC at the Charles Hotel Tuesday June 18 and celebrate the Heart's Horn.

Harp Players:
Geoff Bushby
, Original harp player with “The Shinkickers”, now can be found playing with “Wolfpack”. Elwood Birgden  started playing when he was 13 years old and won theSociety of the Preservation and Enhancement of the Harmonica (SPAH) "William Rosebush Youth Scholarship" in 2022 and flew to Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.
Howie Smallman has been heavily influenced by the old Chicago blues blowers, providing gun harp in many Perth bands over decades. These include Salty Dog, The West Coast Rhythm Kings, Jaywalkers, Sneekers, Dave Hole, Feet First, The Body and Fender Band, The Hips, Smeeton and Smallman, and Datura4.
Dave Billing  with The DooDaddies. Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Diamond Dave and The Doodaddies are a four piece Chicago style Blues Band offering a solid selection of uplifting grooves covering swinging shuffles, soul, boogaloo, 'cry in your beer' blues and more. Featuring the sensational harmonica playing of "Diamond" Dave Billing and the red hot guitar chops of Dave Brewer, the doodaddies, prove not only that the roots of the blues are strong and far reaching , but the future of the blues is bright. The Doodaddies are: Dave Billing (Harp and Vocals), Dave Brewer (Guitar and Vocals), Yugon Chobanoff (Drums), John Wilson (Bass).
