From psyched-out krautrock to free-jazz wig outs to funk-flavoured downtempo jams, Brown Spirits endeavour to smash every show as if it was their last.

Hailing from Coburg (AUS) and maintaining a strictly DIY recording ethic, the last few years have seen the trio pump out a swag of global album releases, the most recent being on UK's esteemed Soul Jazz Records thus landing the band as the first ever act from down under to sign with the label. With strong ongoing support from Australian radio including RRR & PBS (Album of the week) and accolades from abroad including MOJO UK and UNCUT UK, the prospect of sharing stages in Melbourne/Naarm with some of their offshore musical inspiration such as Kikagaku Moyo (Japan), Minami Deutsch (Japan) Frankie & the Witch Fingers (USA) and Yawning Man (USA) has recently become a reality for the band. Now they are raising their glasses to 5 years as a live act and their most recent album release 'Solitary Transmissions' in true celebratory spirit.

New t-shirts, some out of print Brown Spirits 45s, plus some 'warehouse find' copies of various past Brown Spirits LPs (limited edition) will all be available on the night. Special guests will include mind-blowing bands that span the spectrum of krautrock, psych-rock, no wave and psychedelic jazz including Star/Time and Comets, plus some additional surprise special guests to be announced down the track ..
