More than a decade, Los Angeles producer/DJ 12th Planet, born John Dadzie, has remained one of the foremost pioneers in the global electronic music scene. Recognized as the “Los Angeles dubstep god” by Rolling Stone and dubbed the “US dubstep godfather” by Mixmag, 12th Planet helped introduce dubstep music and culture across North America, first popularizing the genre throughout the US in the early aughts via his headbanging original music and his pivotal SMOG label and event brand. After nearly 15 years as a trailblazer, 12th Planet today continues his mission as an international festival-headlining performer, tastemaker label head and essential force in the ongoing evolution of electronic music.
