Tom Denton (Sweet Teens), Woody Gurthie, Sean O’callaghan - Tote Front Bar

Free in the Tote Front Bar - Sunday arvo - May 19th

Tom Denton is the lead singer of off-again/on-again Caucazoid-Aussie-Ponce-Punk-Cult-band, Sweet Teens. Former singer of The Bennies’s embryonic pre-curser Ropeburn and post 9-11 ska punk chaos bomb The Vaginals. Denton has performed long-form biographical prose poetry, self-published one collection of poems, stories and illustrations titled “Ha!”, and is known for his contemporary Australian non-fiction narratives. Tom Denton is a recovered junky, back from the streets. “Seriously, it’s not possible to overstate just how dark it gets out there. And that’s in this place, which is a really kind city.” Denton’s been away from microphones for 8 years. He’s got a new guitar, paid his tax, had a shower and written a new show. He will be celebrating life at the TOTE on Sunday the 19th of May. Come & bear witness, thereby legitimising a fantasy of true redemption.
